Spoke to somebody who did the Sandbox in the second half of July and insisted that everywhere Thais were proudly showing their full vax proof. Thus there were at least 70% up to scratch.My understanding is that as of the 1st July the majority were only single vaxxed although there has been much improvement since then.

Anybody had similar or different experience.

TAT is quoting 82% double vaxxed and about 20% with a booster on top of that. Must be AZ on top of Sino.

Are those %s referring to Phuket only?

Only thing I can find on TAT News is https://www.tatnews.org/2021/09/thailand-covid-19-situation-as-of-22-september-2021-11-00-hrs/ which refers to numbers a couple of days old for the entire country.

Total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered: 46,669,535

· Total number of people who have received 1 dose: 29,741,899

· Total number of people who have received 2 doses: 16,303,999

· Total number of people who have received 3 doses: 623,637

COVIDVAX Live https://covidvax.live/en/location/tha are reporting around that too.  It’s not the same as they are updating (from where?) in “real time”. Fun to watch but huh??

They say they source their data from ourworldindata.org but OWiD are reporting only up to the 22nd on their site and their Thailand source is give as (unhelpfully). “Government of Thailand” and the link goes to a PDF:

https://ddc.moph.go.th/vaccine-covid19/getFiles/9/1632387207499.pdf

Can you give me a steer in the right direction?

The most recent vaccinated statistics I have seen for Phuket was 22-September:
* at least 1-jab: 423,792  (93% of a 466,587 target)
* at least 2-jabs; 393,049 (84% of a 466,587 target)
* at least 3-jabs; 123,127 (26% of a 466,587 target)

However per a Phuket News article (dated 6-Sep-2021) a new (?) target is to be 547,584 (where possibly that includes teenagers ?? < my speculation > ) .
https://www.thephuketnews.com/pfizer-injections-begin-in-phuket-81309.php

So based on that we could get (my speculation ONLY):
* at least 1-jab: 423,792  (77% of a 547,584 different target)
* at least 2-jabs; 393,049 (72% of a 547,584 different target)
* at least 3-jabs; 123,127 (22% of a 547,584 different target)

... and further, I speculate 547,584 does not include all children, and the population could be closer to 600,000 if all children included, so based on that we could get (again - my speculation ONLY):

* at least 1-jab: 423,792  (71% of a 600,000 total population estimate)
* at least 2-jabs; 393,049 (66% of a 600,000 total population estimate)
* at least 3-jabs; 123,127 (21% of a 600,000 total population estimate)

I don't think anyone really knows the population of Phuket at present, so its difficult to know the actual percent vaccinated.

Soon one would also need to consider the TIME lapsed since the 2nd or 3rd jab, in order to take into account the waning vax-protection effect.

Also no account is made to count/estimate those that did catch covid-19 (often without even noticing it - surely in healthy young people), and have now natural immunity which is far superior than vax-induced immunity.  And they are at greater risk of vaccine adverse effects when being jabbed, while a test could determine whether they have such natural immunity.

Sorry I wasn't clear enough, he was insisting that Phuket was at least 70% double vaxxed by 1st July.

I can't quote a source but the impression I got from the media was that at best the figure was 70% with one jab.

Yeah, I think you're right. That's what I remember, too.
