Before schools reopen, parents will have to decide if they want their children inoculated with the Pfizer vaccine. They have until September 24 to make up their minds, says the Education Ministry. The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration provided the vaccination timeline yesterday. 12 to 17 year olds will have access to the Pfizer vaccine if they wish to get it. School meetings will be held with parents from Friday to Wednesday about the plan. Schools will be required to send a list of students that want to be vaccinated to the education office in their respective provinces on September […]

This is something to consider:

"The risk of 12-15 year old healthy boys experiencing cardiac adverse events such as myocarditis after their second dose of the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine is around four times adolescents’ risk of being admitted to hospital as a result of infection with SARS-CoV-2, a preprint study has found.1"

Well, it looks that Thailand is more respectful of parents' rights to decide whether their kids should be jabbed, than the UK authorities.

In UK around three million under-16s are due to start getting their jabs from next week after Chris Whitty endorsed the move 3 days ago. Doses will be largely administered through the existing school vaccination programme and parental consent will be sought. But children will be able to overrule their parents’ decision in the case of a conflict if they are deemed mature and competent enough

I'm not generally a vaccin sceptic, I received 2 Moderna Jabs. But when it comes to children, with these data, it raises some serious questions.

…… otherwise they will be forced to have Sinovac. They will need to have a vaccine as you can imagine the uproar of the 70% of parents up in arms at schools allowing unvaccinated children to attend.

As always it's better to see things in context rather than pull a few bits out to suit your SB's agenda:

Prof Chris Whitty, the lead CMO for the UK, said it was a "difficult decision" and should not be seen as a "silver bullet".

But he said it could be an "important and useful tool" in reducing school disruption in the coming months - and when combined with the marginal health benefit identified by vaccine advisory body the JCVI, it meant offering a Covid vaccine to all children was appropriate.

He said clinicians would share information on the vaccine with parents and if there was a difference in opinion between a parent and child, a clinician would bring them together to try and reach a consensus.

However, in the rare cases agreement is not reached, the child could give consent themselves if the clinician considered them "competent", he added.

I will be going back to classes un-vaccinated!

And your school is doing what for your safety? Though at the end of the day, the decision is yours.

The whole thing is a complete and utter farce

so, your decision will be?

this would be a tough decision, there is a reason even in US until now they didn't approve vaccination for kids. since Thailand MOPH has no clue, i will not read too much into it, cause as we know, this will change on daily basis

Go back... no choice!!

Have you at least contacted management to express your worry that you're not vaccinated and it could be bad for you and/or the kids? Teachers are a priority group. There could be a mistake somewhere..  I have heard that occasionally happens here 🥴🤭

Parents who don't want to send their kid to school because they might get sick.... These are the worst.

The best thing that can happen to a kid is to get sick, so they strengthen their immune system.

During this pandemic it's as if the virus doesn't harm people's lungs but rather harm people's IQ.
