Today, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration recorded 188 coronavirus-related deaths and 13,897 new Covid-19 cases. Since April 1, in the latest and most severe wave of the virus in Thailand, the CCSA has recorded 1,405,374 confirmed Covid-19 cases.  Out of the new cases reported today,1,697 were detected through proactive testing and 451 were found in correctional facilities. More than 40,000 inmates at Thailand’s overcrowded prisons and detention centres have tested positive for the virus over the past several months. Most of the local transmissions of the past several months have been in Bangkok, Chon Buri and provinces surrounding the capital. You and others keep saying Bangkok is the epicentre of Covid. It is meaningless unless expressed as percentage of population.  Of course Bangkok had more cases than any other city. It has a population of I think 9 million people. No other city comes close.  I think as a percent, Bangkok numbers are actually low compared to Phuket and many other places
