The strain of Coronavirus, sometimes called the South African variant, has been detected in undocumented migrants working in the southern province of Narathiwat. Unfortunately it is likely that every variant that Covid develops will make its way to Thailand and all other countries.  That is how a virus survives, each time they infect and transmit they attempt to mutate. The spanish flu spread all around the world in 1918 - before airline flights - now it is impossible to stop a virus spreading amongst humans. Hopefully the CFR of any new Covid variant will stay around the same as the original virus (2%), otherwise things will get very serious very quickly.
