Can anyone tell me the English name of this vegetable?

In Thai it sounds like 'Kanneang' but Google translate returns 'Firework'?

Like many vegetables and fruits, it's only available for one or two weeks a year, like now.

Possibly it's from Myanmar and Kanneang is not the Thai name.

Thanks

Ginseng Chicken

Recently introduced to this dish by a neighbour, we enjoy cooking with ginseng for the aroma and flavour.  Today we bought a kilo of fresh root, some for immediate use, the rest can be frozen.

This east-Asian dish seems to be most popular in Korea, also Singapore and Thailand, and has many health benefits.  Preparation and cooking is simple and one can use a whole bird or large chicken cuts, serve as you would with say Hainanese chicken.

I put half tbsp of chili paste maeploy, 2tbsp soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, 1tbsp of soybean paste bigboy, sugar, and little cornstarch. It’s better to put it altogether in a bowl before cooking.

I taste it first and make sure it has balance taste, and put more sugar or brown sugar if too salty. Next time I’ll make video 😁

I cooked the shrimp in air fryer before I mixed with everything. The tails become very crispy.

Oh looks yummy. Mango is very expensive here and not that good as in Thailand!

Left-overs from tonight's curry dinner.  I cooked enough for 4 but it was so tasty .... 🤫

Chicken curry - my own recipe with all natural herbs and spices include fresh curry leaves,
accompanied by 'bindi marsala' a mildly spiced okra dish,
and served on organic brown rice (grown by friends) >
