It was all just bullshit to lockdown more tightly. The cases have not skyrocketed at all, instead going down.

The outcome of cutting testing to "massage the figures", is only more cases requiring hospitalisation. Lockdowns are effective at controlling the spread, while the population is getting vaccinated. The "elephant in the room" (and if there's any country in the world that would appreciate the saying...it's Thailand!) is the lack of consistent supplies of vaccines. Seeing that Astra Zeneca is the only developer/producer willing to grant license for the production in other countries (like my own), wouldn't it be worthwhile securing the license so Thailand can produce it's own supply?

There is another subtle transmitter of Delta that seems to have been largely overlooked by government and media...The cash economy. Thailand is still a country where currency notes are the main form of payment for good and services. Cashless and contactless forms of payment are still far to rare. All that currency being passed from one person to another, taking Delta with it! Maybe this will give impetus to cashless and contactless forms of payment. If you're a shop assistant, handling currency notes, you might want to slip on some surgical gloves whn handling it....
