The surprising “AI Mask” project by the Ministry of Higher Education Science Research and Innovation found that 99.7% of Bangkok residents were not only wearing their masks but wearing them correctly. The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration announced the findings yesterday and encouraged all provinces around Thailand to follow Bangkok’s great example and mask up. The survey checked on 6,130 people across 29 districts in Bangkok and found that only 0.02% did […]

Perhaps when they're alone. While socializing with family and friends(who are all safe🤔) the mask doesn't seem that necessary.. .

 The true number is 99.99%

There's only been 1 single incident in Thai history when someone didn't wear a mask, it happened to be a couple of falang at Siam BTS station. Luckily, Anutin was there to catch them.

And that is when the rising infections occur, at home.

Now they have 76 more provinces to do ….. CCSA , don’t rest on your laurels, quick get the rest of the survey done before they disband you.

Before putting on a mask, we disinfect our hands, we cover the nose and mouth completely with the mask, firmly placed on the face, we do not forget to twist the bar on the nose.

We never (yes never, never !) touch the mask except to throw it away, we disinfect our hands after having thrown it away. if unfortunately we touch the mask, we immediately disinfect ...

0,3% of Thais respect these instructions (WHO).

In addition, many people have completely ineffective fabric masks.

Putting the mask in your pocket or purse, slung over your shoulder only spreads disease and contaminates yours hands, the environment with viruses. And yes, it's not just covid lying around...

Anutin had removed his mask to speak ... It was the best joke of the year 2020.

WHO guidelines have not changed since ... Use in the general population is not recommended.

But WHO guidelines are like ….

The wheels on the bus go round and round

or … they go up tiddly up up, they go down tiddly down down.

Sometimes politically they just cannot make up their minds. Just wait till they change their mind again.

Maybe it's the translation from French, but it actually IS:

Is that … pardon my French … so to speak?

Haha.

Well, I read the general attitude from some members towards them, but that the WHO doesn't recommend mask use by the general public is simply incorrect.

I’m glad you understood my drunken sarcasm. Or humour anyway. But I do know that the WHO sometimes struggles to make their mind up. Early days of Covid some people may not remember the WHO flip flop.

The mask is very effective if used correctly.

Which is not the case in the general population which has not been educated for and which often does not have the money to afford several masks per day and the hydroalcoholic solution at hand at all times.

The number of people putting on and taking their masks out of handbag pockets is staggering.

if it was done well, would there be that many clusters?

Nice story, but that is not what you said.

You said it's not recommended, but it IS.

But according to the CCSA, in Bangkok 99.7% of the people there where their masks, obviously correctly to the CCSA standards. So in Bangkok the masks are effective.

The UN health agency (WJO) has updated its guidance taking into account the actual use of the mask in some countries.  As it always does in such circumstances, it identified the advantages and disadvantages of this practice, leaving it to the decision-makers in each country to arbitrate, depending on economic, political or social factors.

they also insist on user training ... because it is very difficult for the general population to do things correctly.

During the first wave of COVID-19, caregivers were heavily contaminated cause the misuse of wearing masks.

for example in Belgium the practice among nurses was to lower the mask under the chin and put it back on the face all day long!
