Covid-19 infections and deaths have been fairly consistent over the past week but today’s 253 deaths reported over the last 24 hours is a disappointing jump from the 189 deaths reported yesterday. The number of daily infections remained steadily around the 15,000 mark for more than a week, with the past 24 hours seeing 15,191 infections. 726 of those reported infections were from prisons in Thailand. Covid-19 UPDATE Saturday: 253 deaths, rate of infections steady.

Is that steady to the amount of tests being done or is it infact a high percentage of the very few tests done coming in positive.

They're still testing mostly high risk locations.

I wonder what will happen with those free testkits...

No doubt they'll be "approved as reliable" or else they would admit a very silly purchase.

But who is going to know the test results if people do the test at home?

I bet many who test positive will not report themselves and may well self-isolate while symptomless, instead of ending up in the statistics. Once again, I think the numbers will be understated.

It's critical that the emphasis in Phuket be on vaccination. There needs to be better than 80% double dose vaccination of the Thai population, for international tourists to have confidence enough to come to Phuket.
