And one day later, the "Bangkok Sandbox" is supposed to open...

Any risk there'll be a flip flop?

Orange” zones

Krabi, Nakhon Phanom, Nan, Bueng Kan, Phayao, Phang Nag, Phrae, Phuket, Mukdahan, Mae Hong Son, Surat Thani

How can Phuket possibly be an "orange" zone?

Phuket has over ten times more cases than Loei which is a "red" zone, with a similar population.

Because 'rich tourists' are bringing and spending millions of baht ! Hmm.. on another note, I see today the hospital beds are now over 80% full . A sandbox closure plan!. all they did last time was add more beds . So no doubt they will do the same this time.. they will not stop sandbox  because it means they would have to stop the other sandboxes about to open if the same happens

Restrictions are all countries have until vaccination rates get to where they need to be. Then the restrictions can ease. That plan is being put in place in increasing numbers of countries who want a way out. I don't see any viable alternative offered by pandemic deniers and antivaxers....oh apart from unbridled freedom and who cares who dies or suffers "long covid" ,in the pursuit of "natural immunity", just as long as you can do whatever you want. If that mindset sounds "mindless" ...it's because it is.
