Pattaya has been pummelled by heavy rains over the past few days causing local flooding in roads and neighbourhoods around the area. And weather forecast calls for more torrential downpours over the next few days. Around Pattaya and Bang Lamung, roads flooded last night and locals spent the day cleaning up the messes of the night before. The heavy rains lasted for several hours throughout the night, dumping between 30 and 70 centimetres of water on some roads across Pattaya. The Pattaya City Highway Police Station and the road in Eastern Pattaya near the railway were affected by flooding, along […]

The sad thing is the more storm drain projects Pattaya seems to do, the worse the flooding seems to get. Probably time to find a new engineering firm.

Engineering Firms?  Are you referring to the mob that did this work in April 2021?? Pattaya water drainage system construction completed:  Pattaya water drainage system construction completed | Thaiger (thethaiger.com)

Or are you referring to the mob that did this work in August 2020??  Pattaya officials defends new Beach Road drainage system:  Pattaya officials defends new Beach Road drainage system - Pattaya Mail

Amazing Thailand 😁   Unfortunately there is very little accountability in Thailand of Govt Officials who spend tax money for years and years on projects that just do not work.  Watch out for news about yet another 'drainage project' from the 'Pattaya Rocky & Bullwinkle Show' later this year.

More clowns throwing money down the drain (literally) just to satisfy their own needs, been going on for years in Pattaya and it still continues today, I think it's time an audit is carried out on these projects to see if contractors actually know what they are doing and are approved to do it. Audit is also required to see if monies paid are actually received and banked by contractors or if some goes missing during transfer.

After all TIT.

I bet the "brains" at TAT are trying their best now to figure out how to spin this disaster to a success. Venice of Thailand? Biggest Waterpark in the world?

Just a simple observation I would like to make about the headline "Pattaya rocked by heavy rain".   Never seen that terminology refering to a city inundated due to rain. Generaly it would be Pattaya indundated, flooded, awash etc  but not rocked. Rocked would be applicable to an earthquake or the like. Just saying.

God's trying to wash Pattaya and its sinfulness away.

Well that proves God's a fake as if there were one she would have started in Bangkok first  😂

Perhaps the rural folk who live in old style wooden stilt houses surrounded by well irrigated  rice paddies ain't as dumb and backward as the city slickers would have you believe.

Very true. Something you see often in the tropics and also used to have a secondary purpose of providing shelter for their animals.

Conspiracies everywhere? Even in the rain.
