On the West side of the Gulf Coast, the best beaches stretch from Pranburi to Ban Saphan Noi. About a 150 km. long area. 

A few decent beaches on Samui and some very nice ones on Phangan. I won't discuss Dark Tao, as I always recommend avoiding any island that hosts legally protected serial killers. 

Phuket has some great beaches and the area north of Phuket too. So does Koh Lanta.

 Dont forget the death penalty if you use the wrong sunblock, but feel free to throw garbage over your shoulder wherever you go -hey, it's Thai culture! Mai pen rai na krap!
