News Forum - Thailand Tourism to Boom, is it Asia’s Amsterdam? | Weekend Update
No need to be confused, Marble-eye, it's a quote from the link which you haven't read. Further: "But the number of Americans who use cannabis heavily is soaring. In 2006, about 3 million Americans reported using the drug at least 300 times a year, the standard for daily use. By 2017, that number had increased to 8 million—approaching the 12 million Americans who drank every day. Put another way, only one in 15 drinkers consumed alcohol daily; about one in five marijuana users used cannabis that often. And they are consuming cannabis that is far more potent than ever before, as measured by the amount of THC it contains. THC, or delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, is the chemical responsible for the drug’s psychoactive effects. In the 1970s, most marijuana contained less than 2% THC. Today, marijuana routinely contains 20–25% THC, thanks to sophisticated farming and cloning techniques, and to the demand of users to get a stronger high more quickly. In states where cannabis is legal, many users prefer extracts that are nearly pure THC." The topic is about Thailand, not the US. Completely different patterns of availability and consumption. For starters, extracts of that strength remain illegal in LoS. -

Ukraine/Russian Conflict - General Discussion
Yes and no. I think most of those assets are still frozen and not technically seized. Western media seems to think those two terms are one in the same. The American's did allow Russia to pay back some bonds out of those assets for a while (American bonds of course hahaha). That's now stopped. Will Russia get the money back was hotly debated at the time with a surprising number of constitutional law experts pointing out it's highly likely. Of course the idea of using frozen assets to pay of a legal debt is very Western. It probably wouldn't be hard for Ukraine to make a claim and win in international court either. -

Ukraine/Russian Conflict - General Discussion
Wouldn't surprise me if true, it's just a matter of time until Russia nails some of them. No doubt there is a learning curve and that curve includes staying out of reach of Russian weapons. I don't see that it was an air strike although that is more likely. They do say there is a video but I can't seem to find it. Hope it's better than the one Russia provided to show the destruction of US supplied M777s. The one where a Russian drone finds them and drops a bomb and they quickly move into a forest and then get blasted. Only problem was Russia spliced the film, the forest they move into wasn't the same as the forest getting blasted. Oops. Of course as you point out it could just as easily be a PR claim. Both sides do it. If we counted every naval ship the Ukrainians claim to have sunk, the entire black sea fleet would be gone. The Ukrainians have been showing a lot of video the last few days of their HIMARS firing rockets. Wouldn't be a hard jump to claim some of them were destroyed whether true or not. The Ukrainians are suppose to get another four this week or next. It's still an issue of training crews than supplying them more HIMARS.
