Gee you think so?

What could possibly stop a tourist from coming to welcoming Thailand where you only need to get a vaccine passport, a fit to fly, and upon arrival be shuttled to a quarantine location for 15 days at your expense and then get covid tested 3 times before being released only to face one more covid test at 3,500 baht so you can get on a plane to return home.

I am sure coming to a location where most of the entertainment venues are closed, all the bars are, and you can not get a glass of beer with a beer will still provide adequate allure to attract millions of willing tourists to such a paradise.

If my government pays for me to have a test 48hours before I fly to Thailand then the Thai people dont need to pay. But if I choose to spend my tourist dollars elsewhere then the Thai tax payer misses out on a lot more than the 500 Baht you quote for a test. The world is a big place and there are many places we can go. Bali, Fiji, Phillipines, Vietnam. No problem!

Yes but you cant get into three of those quoted. I dont know about Fiji.

Have a lovely day.

Why are we forced to do 3 PCR tests when staying locked inside a hotel room for 14 days?

I'm in ASQ quarantine, not allowed to leave my room, no contact with the hotel staff. Yet we do several expensive lab tests, measuring temperature two times a day. For what? We have no contact with the hotel staff at all.

It's all a big joke

Absolutely, they already tricked you then they screwed you big time because you have all the money to pay pay for 2 weeks of quarantine.

Tourism officials in Pattaya are concerned that the demands being made of foreign tourists, including multiple costly Covid tests, will put people off visiting. Pattaya hopes to re-open quarantine-free under a sealed route scheme, but Thanet Supornsahasrungsi from the Chon Buri Tourism Council has expressed concern about the costs involved for visitors. The Bangkok Post reports that Pattaya is eyeing Russia and India as potential tourism markets, as well as foreigners who own condos in Pattaya or have family or businesses there. However, Thanet says a discussion with Russian tour operator, Pegas Touristik, revealed that the current costs of arriving […]

Great story in the Phuket News about a foreign couple, after completing their 14-day Sandbox quarentine were told that they would need to pay an additional 35,000 baht in order to do tests to visit Phi Phi, return to Phuket, visit Samui and return to Phuket.

When news like this goes international, it's no wonder Pattaya and other areas are re-considering this idiocy.

As much as this is plain foolishness, I am unsympathetic towards anyone who so urgently felt the need to try and vacation in Thailand right now.

Their mistake is that they sent one email to Krabi and Samui TAT.

Everyone knows you need to send TAT at least 10.000.000 emails. They don't understand small numbers.
