A large number of drugs are set to be burned today in Samut Prakan after Food and Drug Administration officials busied themselves yesterday with operatives from the Narcotics Control Board. The officials checked nearly 28,000 kilograms of drugs that were being stored at an FDA warehouse. Thai media says the drugs were being stored for evidentiary purposes, but they can now be torched after a court order gave the go-ahead. Shame the people who are mainly responsible for the distribution of these drugs don't get thrown on top of the bonfire but guess to put most of the RTP on top may prove embarrassing and not least the Army generals who allow the illegal importation over the borders.

In lots of countries this would happen and have massive security in place to make sure it was all accounted for. In Thailand, the massive security will be there to make sure it is all shared out proportionally.

Can appreciate your well intended, yet dreamy, suggestion. These things never come about in oligarchical ruling company. 

Better yet, why not just free it all up to the discriminating and non-regulated market.

So 28.000 kgs of drugs will be burned, what about the rest?

Probably being redistributed already, by those who are supposed to serve and protect.
