A missing 4 year old boy’s body has been found in a Bangkok well. His body was found without pants on. The boy had been missing since last week. The boy’s mother had previously told the Mirror Foundation, a humanitarian organisation, that her son had vanished while she was washing dishes. How terrible but you have to ask the question why did it take so long before the tracker dogs were brought in ?

You could ask. But doubt if an answer would be to anyone's satisfaction.

It would all depend on who she told, who the "officials" were and why the Mirror Foundation were told and involved, none of which is clear.

Looking at the original report and photos of the actual "well", the photo used and the article are deceptive at best.

It very clearly wasn't a "well" as in the photo here but a big pit on a large building site, where work seems to have been suspended, so given that and the involvement of the Mirror Foundation, my guess (emphasis on guess) is that he didn't wander away from his "house" at all but that his mother was a worker (possibly migrant) living on the building site and she only told anyone when someone from the charity the Mirror Foundation visited for some reason.

As a former K9 officer with first hand tracking, trailing & cadaver dog experience; it is not uncommon for dogs to be called in when all else has failed.   Rarely, they are called in early on.  Why not in more cases?  Because man believes he is smarter than a dog.

Some families sort of live a communal like life .

It wouldn't be uncommon for  family member to show up and take the kid out somewhere.

Like if they were going swimming, they may just take a few family kids along as well without telling the Mother , if shes not about

Always good to get the qualified view of things. Your 2nd post, too . . . sorry I missed your debut, last month.
