News Forum - Chiang Mai tourism expects rebound despite hotel booking slump
30% capacity? Now, where's that declaration of a disaster that's going to hurt tourism there? Oop, not needed, is it? -

News Forum - Video footage shows sewage spill on Jomtien Beach
Oh, no, no, no. They'd never do that. Never. Every time that there is some runoff, sewage discharge or question about anything that might impact the attractiveness of the beaches to tourists, it is quickly deep-sixed (pun intended). Their inability to develop and maintain such infrastructure is eventually going to be their undoing. Shortsightedness, in the face of "harming the image for tourism" is going to be the ecological kiss of death by Thai politicians and those in the industry that just don't really care.- 1

News Forum - Puffing problems: Bangkok seminar on e-cigarettes perils
If they are going to get serious about it, they need to get serious. Vaping is becoming endemic. Without enforcement it's just going to get worse. For something that's illegal, it surely is easy to buy in nearly any market or online. While I believe there is physiological damage that will ultimately result because of vaping use, it's the products, like those shown in the picture aimed at children, that should receive the strongest attention, and punishment, at this time. Anyone caught selling or manufacturing such idiocy should receive harsh penalties.- 1

News Forum - Former Thai MP returns after 15 years political asylum
It appears that 15 years, or so, is the magic number for political miscreants to return to the country and be embraced or forgiven for mass anti-society events.. First, Thaksin, then this guy and now that group of Yellow Shirts that occupied Don Muang Airport. It's like there is a political short-term memory phenomenon in this country. None of us should be surprised when this guy gets slapped on the wrist with a wet noodle, too. -

News Forum - Scientists: Earth’s spinning faster
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm under the impression there's no risk of it impacting time calculation precision. It sounds like the only effect it would have is shift the time the sun rises and sets by infinitesimal amounts. Maybe an hour after a few million years or so. Even though the matter is interesting, let's not give Samantha Rose credit for posting anything else than clickbait.- 1
