Chiang Mai, which recently reported that, due to the Covid-19 situation and slow vaccination, they will delay their planned September reopening to October at the earliest, like many tourism areas that have seen plans to welcome back international tourists dashed by the intensity of the pandemic in Thailand. Now Pattaya has also acknowledged that their plan for reopening on September 1 is not likely to happen. Other countries using other vaccines (not the Chinese junk) have very good experiences with vaccines. 

 

I don't know why you at this point think different about this.

 

It's not about whether you get sick or not. The point is that you don't have to go to the hospital and you don't die. If that is the criterion, then the vaccinations work fine.

It was always a fantasy to open first of September, even October is iffy at best. That said clearly they intend to open as soon as possible, meaning this year.

Even if by some miracle Pattaya was to reopen the bars would still remain closed, no alcohol in restaurants and many other businesses closed.

Who would really want to go there?

FFS, who would want to go there in the best of times.

They need to focus on reopening. For 1-2 months then focus on tourist returns. You can't have both. Reopen malls, bars, massage and beach and dine in. It's too much focus on tourist return instead of a stable opening. Once the soft reopening happens people from all over thailand will come so let's see what the covid cases look like after a month or two
