Thousands of sex toys valued at more than 3 million baht were seized yesterday by officers from the Child and Women’s Welfare Department in Bangkok’s Nong Khaem district. Two men were arrested. Around 5,000 dildos, penis enlargement devices, penis massage oils and lubricating gels were seized from a warehouse off the Petchkasem highway. Fake Rolex and Gucci watches were also confiscated. Officers arrested 47 year old Ekkalan Chotwetphatcharakul, who is from the northern province Tak,  and 28 year old Lee Mao Siang, a Chinese national. Police say the men admitted to owning the sex toys and products. The items were shipped from […]

Maybe it’s just quid pro quo.

Thai goods versus Chinese goods. Though it may just be coincidence that these articles appear on the same day.

It's funny how actually, they are deciding for everyone what they do with their own body. Come on, if someone needs a dildo, who are they to tell that person not to?

The same with that article about sex positions. They'll decide for you in which position you may have sex. And if you do it wrong, they'll come to your house and arrest you? Or let you see how it's done? Or what?

A prominent medical expert has urged the government to stop exporting locally-produced doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine until Thailand has enough for its own people. Dr Prasert Auewarakul from Siriraj Hospital’s Faculty of Medicine says Thailand needs at least 10 million doses a month over the next 3 months. According to a Bangkok Post report, he says this period is a crucial point in the vaccine rollout, potentially enabling a reduction in infections and Covid-related deaths. Prasert is urging people to add their names to a petition hosted on the Change.org website, which calls for a law on national vaccine […]

Confiscating (e.g.) lubricating gels doesn't help anyone's welfare (mostly -  although not exclusively - women’s), rather the opposite.

Also, I don't see how any of the materials can be considered pornographic (for example, any defense attorney in a rape charge trying to dilute blame towards sellers of "arousing??" penis enlargement contraptions should be held in contempt of common sense).

"The law" is law, so the officers involved did their job properly. Still. it all seems a bit silly.

Why are they illegal ?

Because they are not made out of wood being a fallacy, and may bring embarrassment and give the world the wrong meaning contradicting how innocent Thailand is.

If I had a billion dollars I would hire a fleet of cargo airplanes and fly them over Thailand releasing sex toys over every square meter of land until they covered everything.

They already erect giant penis statues in the middle of the road to induce rain.Penis-statue-brings-rain-to-Thai-village.jpg.702d634a7d17ea5c75df862d4d4a227f.jpg

The Welsh and New Zealanders expats here would think it was manna from heaven when the blow up sheep floated down to them then

......The men were charged with importing pornographic materials that had not been cleared by customs officials......

no brown envelopes to gain clearance

Rather obvious question: they were shipped from China and were sitting in a warehouse in Thailand. So how did they get there if they weren’t cleared by customs officials at the port of entry? Commercial shipments arriving from abroad have import duty and VAT to pay before they’re released.

No finger pointing ?

Maybe not, but what a fine body of men the RTP managed to throw at this national security-threatening issue.
