The Governor of the central Thai province of Samut Sakhon, Veerasak Vichitsangsri, has announced that he wishes to resign from his post, today after his transfer request was rejected. According to Veerasak, he will spend his time with his family in Ang Thong. Veerasak posted on Facebook yesterday through the pseudonym “Sakravee Srisangdharma”, which he often uses when he writes. Shouldn't a govener be a resident of their province and be elected by the people in that province

Good riddens. Your seafood market started this whole mess and your impotency and inability to take control, when the weak feds would not, allowed the spread.

See ya. Hope the nation never hears from you again. You are an utter failure!

Those rules of common sense, common decency and fair play do not seem to apply to the goon squad.

They only apply to us commoners.

Rather unnecessary and unjustified.

He implemented bubble and seal measures as soon as it was realistically possible, despite opposition, and insisted that field hospitals were set up and established and quarantine applied, again despite a lot of local opposition at the time, and he then caught Covid himself when visiting and checking the field hospitals.

He was then hospitalised for nearly three months, with 6 weeks of that unconscious on a ventilator.

He's one of the good guys.

They are all just pawns for controlling-things  for the people in upper power. Sort of like Tibet and Hong Kong for who is sent in to run it.

Well, thanks for those details. It is a truly astonishing concept to consider a provincial governor to be one of the good guys. Nice to hear there are some around. And as you say, he may have run into alot of opposition. We all know the sluggard PM and the diabolically horrific health minister, did not want any sort of lockdown, and are personally responsible for the latest waves of Covid, due to a host of bad moves, and inaction.
