I think Everton has something big going on this season , i'm so tired of seeing them finish 8, 9,10 in the league every year it would be nice if they could grab a CL place in the table.

You could be right there. There was a time when everyone tipped the Toffees  to finish 7th every season, but that seems to have dropped off a bit.

Very nice run of fixtures coming up, Everton could easily be in the top 4 in November. Good manager, good squad!

I remember the very early days of FPL, before they even kept records after each season. Gravesen, Arteta and Cahill were staples of my team back then.

Long time since i was in Liverpool now and saw a derby prolly about 10 years ago ,Thailand has taken all the time to go to .

Well well guys have a great evening , hmmm maybe should say night the time here is 8 pm

Yes, like you @Slacker77, I'm expecting something better from The Toffees, this season. Since supplying most of Liverpool's glass merchants with putty, almost half-a-century ago, I've had a soft spot for the city and The Reds especially. I can still say I support The Toffees, too . . . can't I?

For 2 weeks, now, Richarlison has let me down, so I've gone back with DC-L now, even though he is nursing a small injury. Let's hope the Intntl break will see that fixed!

I visited Birkenhead across the Mersey 15 years ago when my son was living there. There was an Everton club shop on the high street, probably still is. I’ve kind of always had a soft spot for the Toffees, also with Chang on the jersey.

I remember asking my uncle when I was young, “Will Newcastle win the title this year?” “No” he said, nobody will beat Everton. Mid 80s.

'Now, Craig!', as they say in the NE, or 'Now then, Craig!', as we civilised Lancastrians say, have you spotted the newcomer to 'your' FPLeague? Yes, my FFLeague website is now showing new member, #13, by the name of Athletico Pathetico and his 20-21 season pts score, if I'm not mistaken, puts him at #2 in the rankings at the season-start . . . hmm, could be an interesting addition! (:-)  I just hope that my weekly update table can fit him on!

Cheers

This new mystery player has some serious pedigree. He’s also beaten me handily 11 seasons in a row. But that’s not saying much…

He will probably debut at #1, a bit like Achtung Baby back in 1991. But I see he is only #4 in the other forum that we shall not name’s league.

We need to lift our game to catch them

Why in the hell is the England National team kneeling during the playing of the national anthem every game?

So folks, here we go for game week 4. So many questions to ponder…

Will Lukaku and Son be fit?

Is it time to get rid of Dallas?

Should Toney stay or should he go?

How many more double digit returns before Antonio gets injured?

Is Ronaldo worth 12.5 million? (Maybe a bargain, since Man United paid 12.9 million in the real world)

Will our mystery new league member from the other forum be top of the pops come Tuesday?

These are some of mine, no doubt you all have a few of your own.

Good luck to one and all ⚽

Big GW4 coming up, I just finished work so I’ll be watching.

Just over 2 hours till day 3 of the darts gets underway. I started a new thread for that in the forum in case there are any other darts fans out there. Thanks for bringing that up, Slacker77!

A lot of interest here in Japan as the lads face Germany after getting through against Russia in the first round.

And good luck in game week 4 ⚽

Game Week 4 done and dusted. Many questions were answered and many new ones are now being asked… Some notable talking points:

New “mystery member” Athletico Pathetico wins the game week and does indeed debut at #1. Lukaku as captain alongside Ronaldo up front. Some serious firepower there.

As Above So Below (#3 overall) had a very strong week, but got pinged with multiple transfer deductions.

Wonnaplay Wednesday (#8 overall) made a huge move on the field. KC must be loving Lukaku and Zaha!

GameWeek 4 Top 8 in full (GW points, overall ranking for the season):

1. Athletico Pathetico (80, #1)

2. As Above So Below (73, #3)

2. Pasar Rebo FC (73, #2)

2. Wonnaplay Wednesday (73, #8)

5. ILL Tempered Sea Bass (66, #4)

6. Milly Puzzy Kat (61, #10)

7. Inter MiNan (52, #5)

8. Maximum Characters (46, #6)

Mornin' all!

After the almost goalless - except for United and Chelsea - Saturday evening, things did liven up a little with both Merseyside clubs bagging 3 goals apiece.

And, just as I suspected, our new member, Athletico Pathetico, has stamped his presence by adding to his GW 1-3 tally with another impressive top spot, this weekend. Is there any hope for us lesser mortals putting the reins on this guy?

Here are the scores on the doors for Gameweek 4 . . .

  Gameweek   1     2     3     4   total
1 Athletico Pathetico 90 78 75 80   323
2 Pasar Rebo FC 100 64 79 73   316
3 As Above So Below 112 73 54 65   304
4 ILL-Tempered SeaBass 94 70 68 62   294
5 Inter MiNan 89 54 73 52   268
6 Maximum characters 67 46 67 42   222
7 Oi Oi Team 51 61 67 41   220
8 Wonnaplay Wednesday 44 38 55 73   210
9 Tottenham Krian 65 41 60 33   199
10 Milly puzzy kat 40 43 50 57   190
11 The vikings 60 38 39 36   173
12 Rawai FC 35 47 44 34   160
13 Guangxi United 39 26 26 27   118

  GWs with transfer penalties

Of note for GW 4 is that 4 of the 13 member teams made additional transfers which took their scores down a peg, as shown in red.

A superb roundup for GW4 @BigHewer and such modest praise for Pasar Rebo, too! I can see you and Ath-Path having a real battle as the season extends.

You don't, by any chance, do the behind the scenes stats work for the BBC's live text commentaries, do you? Not having TV, that's what I must rely on for my weekend excitement . . . just asking (:-)

I was going to ask you the same question, KC. Those are some impressive stats you have compiled from our league :-)

Onto GW 5 then… We‘ll see if Ath-Path extends his lead or one of us can reel him in.

Gameweek 5 now less than 12-hrs away and, as much as it goes against my normally modest grain, I have a slightly cocky feeling that WW are going to shine, this time around.

Good luck, all . . . well, sort of!

Cheers!

I like the way you put it, KC, all the Good Luck sentiments on this thread have been a bit overdone. Nice to see some honesty for a change 😎

Just finished watching The Toon vs. Leeds, what a cracker of a game. Just realised I didn’t have any players in it.

Nice pick with Saint-Maximin, by the way. I almost bought him, but I decided to stick with Toney. Now, watch Toney blank again this week…

After reading the BBC match review, sounds like Brucie's battle with the fans hasn't eased any, despite The Toon's occasional flashes of grandeur - S-M's for example, that has given WW a 2-pt lead . . . until tonight's shit hits the fan.

And, good luck with Toney . . . sort of (:-)

I thought the fans would have been more appreciative of the way the lads gave it a real go. Impatient for that first win…

Likewise, good luck… sort of! :)

Yes, why is it that The Toon fans have always been among the most difficult to satisfy, when everything else about the club is so positive-sounding: a famously welcoming and vibrant city, one of the best stadiums in SJP and, more often than not, a manager who's come to the club with more than a modest track-record, on a committed mission to see them thro' one sticky patch or another. Why is it that Toon fans seem unable to empathise with their 'poor' manager's uphill struggle?

If they're not careful, their club is going to be viewed as the poisoned chalice by future prospective managers, IMO, that is.

Catch ya later!

I think the failure of the Saudi-backed bid in conjunction with the ever-present animosity towards Ashley just makes the atmosphere move to “toxic” ever so quickly.

St. James Park has such a positive, uplifting run-on atmosphere. Local Hero theme, the Toon Army in full voice. What compares to it really? Anfield? Amazing how it turns sour so quickly… but anyway, fixtures at hand imminently KC… onto FPL (or EPL rather…)

So, that's Gameweek 5 done and dusted and my supposedly strongest club never even showed up . . . Man City, of course, although they did bag me a few points, so I mustn't grumble.

What is looking good now though, is the 3-way battle for top with only 21 points separating them. 'All to play for', as we expert pundits say (:-)

  Gameweek  1      2      3      4      5   total

3 As Above So Below 112 73 54 65 58   362
4 ILL-Tempered SeaBass 94 70 68 62 55   349
5 Inter MiNan 89 54 73 52 64   332
6 Maximum characters 67 46 67 42 54   276
7 Oi Oi Team 51 61 67 41 55   275
8 Tottenham Krian 65 41 60 33 58   257

And Dr. Evil is not far off in 4th, plotting his transfers from a hidden bunker somewhere.

Inter MiNan in 5th did very well too, equal second for the game week with league leaders Athletico Pathetico.

On to game week 6 then.

Talk about learning by experience; there was me assuming that West Ham's Antonio's red card (2-weeks ago) would get him at least a 2-game ban and making a totally compromised transfer, only to discover, yesterday, that he was on The Hammers' team sheet and then transferring him in and transferring-out that poor Brighton dude who will now not so much as step onto the green of my carefully mowed pitch.

'Bollocks' was the word that first came to mind for this valuable learning experience, but I DO hope that all you other Fantasists will award me an extra 4 notional points, come Monday's final scores, being as they are truly educational . . . no?    Okay . . . just that rude B-word again!
