Next month, 350,000 Covid-19 vaccine doses are planned to be sent to Hua Hin to vaccinate residents and those who work in the tourism industry.  As part of the Hua Hin Recharge project, the vaccinations prepares the popular beachside town in the Prachuap Khiri Khan province for the reopening to foreign tourists. The Committee of National Tourism Policy recently approved a plan for Hua Hin similar to Phuket’s sandbox model which would allow vaccinated foreign visitors to travel to the area. Doses planned                = 350,000

Hua Hin population        = 63, 091 (Dec 2017)

Doses planned, therefore, equates to well over 5 times the population, which assuming everyone gets a double-dose would require 126,000 doses. Problem is, if Hua Hin is anything like Isan in its almost total disbelief in the Thai vaccine roll-out operation, then less than half, about 30,000 folks, let's say, will want vaccination.

Yup, sounds like another bureaucratic cock-up.

Sounds like ask for 350k in the hopes you get 150k.

I agree with you 100% about the lack of confidence in the vaccine in Isan, but as there aren't even enough vaccines for 1 in 20 in Isan, why worry if only 1 in 2 want them?
