Suvarnabhumi Airport, Long-term plans is for four runways flanking two main terminals and two satellite buildings with a combined capacity capable of handling up to 100 million passengers and 6.4 million tonnes of cargo a year are on the drawing board. The second phase of airport expansion involving the construction of a satellite building south of the main terminal and work is expected to begin 3 to 5 years after the completion of the first main terminal.

' . . . and work is expected to begin 3 to 5 years after the completion of the first main terminal.'

Hello, Andrew,

Unless your post is intended to illustrate - or maybe criticise - the well-behind-schedule state of Suvarnabhumi's planning (10 years behind schedule), the phrase quoted above as good as says that the existing terminal, i.e. the first main terminal, is unfinished, when as far as I was aware, it has been fully operational since 2006 when it opened. Hence my 'confused' icon.

Hi King Cotton

Yes terminal 1 was built many years ago and its getting Satellite buildings as well as an upgrade. Difficult to know how Covid-19 has impacted on the schedule and how much money is now available to carry out these projects.
