Helmut Jahn, the German architect who designed Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport, has died in a cycling accident in Illinois, America on May 8th 2021. He was 81 years of age.

He worked on several major projects, including Chicago’s McCormick Place and the United Airlines terminal at O’Hare International Airport, which includes a walkway famous for its colorful lighting.

Jahn’s work internationally includes the Sony Center in Berlin and the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand.
