Asanha Bucha Day is a special Buddhist holiday in Thailand marking the day when the Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon at Benares in India over 2,500 years ago. The exact date of the holiday is determined by the waxing moon and the lunar months, but is usually held in July or August each year. In 2021 it falls on July 26. Today is also the start of the period of Buddhist Lent. The sooner people are freed from the deadening hand of the Buddhist hierarchy the sooner they will be able to pull together for freedom from repeated military rule.

Update to rule #3 – effective from 24 July 2021

Previous Rule: Don’t defame, insult or threaten the King of Thailand or any member of the Thai royal family, whether living or deceased or criticize the monarchy as an institution.

New Rule: Do not discuss nor invite debate about the Thai monarchy. Strict lese majeste laws may be applied against any person or group believed to have defamed, insulted or threatened the King of Thailand or any member of the Thai royal family, whether living or deceased.

Just what those hard working Govt folks need is yet another holiday FFS... The BKK middle class will no doubt have been walkabout this weekend taking their contagion with them. Apparently the checkpoints between BKK and Chonburi are few and far between...

Asanha Bucha Day falls on 24th July with Monday 26th July being the substitute public holiday. Today is the 27th July and not a public holiday.

I had to google it, to find out who he is. I know nothing about sport.
So I am better informed, but none the wiser to as a lawyer said of a judge once.

Not into sport, sacrilegious. Can I suggest you may be enticed to take an interest as the Tokyo Olympics are on and the ladies beach volleyball may be something you could get  into. Not that there is a lot to get into if you watch it !!

Ladies volleyball, ladies tennis, sure. just not into sports.
