Jonjo Shelvey's free-kick proves to be the difference as Newcastle claim a huge win over Leeds at Elland Road to move above Watford in the race to avoid Premier League relegation

The Toon are staying up for sure. I like the shape of the side with Trippier and Fraser on the flanks and Dummet and Willock back in. Wilson still to return. Howe is doing a good job.

Good luck with that, PL needs clubs like Newcastle

Sad for Ranieri but it had been heading that way for a while. Time to bring in a firefighter.

Or TP…

Cannavaro favorite according to Ladbrokes. Who would go there? Guaranteed sour ending with their managerial merry-go-round.

Meanwhile, @BigHewerand @Lowseasonlover, back at Goodison Park, Pereira has dropped to 2nd fave to replace Benitez, maybe after evident fans' unhappiness with the Portuguese former front-runner  . . . and guess who that puts to the front . . .

All to play for, as they say 🤔!

Hopefully they’ll still be looking (and in a shambles) when they go to SJP. The Toon need a win 😎

Lampard now offered the Everton job and awaiting his acceptance . . .

How will that play out for the impending Toon vs Toffees match?

Geordies need a win difficult to predict

The Geordies need a win, especially a home win and following their surprise victory over Leeds, for sure!

But, should Lampard get the EVE job, we can be sure that the Toffees will be equally 'up for it' as Eddie's bunch . . . an interesting exciting prospect, for sure 🙀!

CC not happy with life under Howe. Only one start and one sub appearance. He knows he’s on his way out… if he didn’t well he definitely does now 😂

Lampers now confirmed accepting EVE's managerial invitation and getting his coaching team in place.

I do like the prospect of 2 seasoned English player/coaches - Gerrard and Lampard - going head-to-head, as well as maybe spicing-up the league generally.

On another note, Benfica only fields 5 or 6 Portuguese speakers on some match days.

Could Man United outdo them?

I think you will find Wolves can win on this one, Benfica is  more less a feeder club for them nowadays!

plus they have a very underrated team and manager

Telegraph columnist Jim White is present at the clash and has reported a chant aimed at the 27-year-old after going down injured during the first period.

After going to the ground from a kick, Watford fans chanted "that's how your cat feels" towards the hurt West Ham star.

Cracking goal for Weghorst vs. Brighton to get his account up and running. If he and Cornet can fire, Burnley will stay up for sure.

Seagulls look in a right state at the back. Sanchez and Duffy in a shoving match on live TV 😳

Just watched Burnley vs Everton. What a joke. One team was playing football and the other one was diving, playing for fouls and generally nancing around the pitch.

Is this how Lampard wants the Toffees to stay up? I was over the moon to see Burnley get the equalizer (and then the winner). Justice was done.
