A couple of quirky indie films
Little Miss Sunshine (2006). Esp. Toni Colette who was great in the Aussie 1996 movie Cosi
The Fundamentals of Caring (2016) with Paul Rudd
Bot sure if they are truly indie films but not big budget nor too superficial
If you like opera Cosi is a must and the inmates lead by Barry Otto Re brilliant
He lives and works in thailand and has been fighting the case for two years so he must be legally resident and must also have a valid work permit or he could not take the case to court.
The pricing difference appears to be based on nationality.
British B&W comedy? The great Alistair Sim (in drag as Millicent and also playing her brother Clarence, Fritton) in The Belles of St Trinian’s (1954). I think the rest of the “franchise” were in colour.
But it’s a tie with School for Scoundrels (1960) Sim with Terry-Thomas and Ian Carmichael. If memory serves it is in B&W.
As has been mentioned the Ladykiilers is a bit of a wheeze and Alec Guinness in The Lavender Hill Mob (1951) is also a stand out.
My two bobs worth.
