They arrested 21 suspects for allegedly taking drugs and breaking the emergency decree that forbids groups from gathering. The Thong Lor police were alerted that a hotel room on Soi Sukhumvit 31 was full of people being loud and not social distancing. When police arrived at the hotel room, a “Mr Patima” let them inside. Inside, the police did indeed find loud music and people and not social distancing. The group was also imbibing alcohol and taking drugs, say police. […]

The police also say there was a birthday cake found at the scene.

Was it loitering with intent to be eaten?

I could be in trouble, we had two 'birthday' cakes recently. My wife bought them for the family just to eat. No birthday involved.
Luckily there was no name on the cakes, therefore assuring anonymity. The police's case would 'crumble.'

It reminds me yet again of the students charged with 'eating a sandwich with political intent' in June 2014, while reading a copy of 1984.

A birthday cake! I deduce that a birthday party was in progress, or was it a sham to hide a meeting of the Popular Front for the Overthrow of Poisonous Prayut. Could be.

Memo to police, all birthday parties are banned forthwith, or sooner . . .

I wonder if they will test the cake for drugs too. Someone may have spiked it.

Space Cake...!!

Heard from a friend that he first tried this in Amsterdam in '78.

Just for clarity, as Shaggy sang: " It wasn't me"

Agreed - my first thought when I saw the photo.

Beyond gungy.

I think the idea that these are all "hi-so" is a bit imaginative, as were the previous reports.

Cargo pants, copy trainers, cheap booze, etc, isn't hi-so  -  just Bangkok.

"... new glasses like bob."

Posted by "bob".

Bit of a giveaway there, "bob". ?

The place is a tip.   There are even face-masks on the floor - or maybe they're part of the pattern too, "bob" ....

The police also say there was a birthday cake found at the scene. It was not stated whose birthday it was or if the cake was just for fun.

Well, do we have a mystery here... ?

They also found a table, a couch, a rug, a window and oxygen.

Don't need to mention literally everything that is there. ?
