The managing director of the Maesa Elephant Camp in the northern province of Chaing Mai has appealed to the media to help track down thieves who broke into the camp to steal elephant hair to craft talismans. Anchalee Kanlamapijit, the managing director of the camp, contacted Thai media yesterday and asked them to spread the news about the elephant story, adding there had been no development after they filed a complaint at the Mae Rim Police Station several months ago. Well the elephants tails and hair keep a lot of pests at bay from having a party at the rear end, maybe there are some who have only two legs with the same problem.

Simian pox as it is now called springs to mind, as do many others but I will desist, not my field.

The question is...only the keeper or the people managing the see animals can go near them. If a stranger comes near, the elephant would attack or chase them away. At least there will be an "elephant kick"  when anyone touches their tail. So it is better to investigate from inside out.....
