The Deputy PM and Energy Minister, Supattanapong Punmeechaow, has urged the nation’s senators to be energy-saving role models for Thailand. The 62 year old MP has suggested every senator should avoid wearing suits to reduce the use of air-conditioning in Parliament. “The senators should be the role models by adjusting the air-conditioning temperature in Parliament, taking off suits, taking off ties, and installing energy-saving devices.

OMG MPs will be like dirty smelly farlungs. Has anyone consulted Anut on this plan?

Supattanapong responded saying if the government asked oil refineries to reduce their benefits, they might stop operating in protest. As a result, Thailand would have to import oil from abroad and the price would increase even further.
 

Rubbish and I have to ask how much he’s beIng paid to say that. Refinery profits have increased 10fold since covid.

This is too little, too late as always. Reminds me of Trump suggesting that folks in wooded areas in California  should rake the forest floor to prevent a major forest fire. Useless…

This is hardly a solution.

No in -person meetings, all by zoom.  No driving to Parliament, no Parliament building needed, no air conditioning needed - better advice
