Residents living in View Point Village in Bang Lamueng district in Pattaya filed a complaint to the authorities after foreigners caused carnage at an unlicensed pool villa. The Assistant District Officer, Pornchai Sung-iad, investigated the View Point Village, where several houses operate as pool villas and found that a number of locals were concerned that more properties in the area were operating illegally unlicenced pool villas and that they would attract unruly foreigners. Pornchai says they discovered one pool villa in the village and tried to make a reservation. They discovered the accommodation was available to rent daily and that […]

We had some wide-boy spoilt-brats try putting in a pool, and upgrade their investment houses in our quiet gated community for the "Airbnb Chinese market".

Well the upper middle class Thai community we are fortunate to live amongst were having none of it!

They too raided one of them, this was pre Covid!

Next, they had neighbours put up huge signs in Thai saying leasing short term always illegal and police would be called if strangers were seen on the property.

These clowns, actually even bought fleets of scooters, now gathering dust as the pools go green, and the expensive renovations drain their accounts.

SOM NAM NA. Some of the offenders once enjoyed the serenity of our village before they failed to turn it into a party venue for their own profit. Now they're screwed. Nobody in their right mind, especially Thais, will buy and take on the added expense of a pool in this economy.

We wonder when the bank fire sale signs will go up. Then again, given its three years along, maybe these are just yet another Chiang Mai drug laundry project, so they're not thrilled, but can write it off either way.

We had 2 HUGE 2 and 3 storey houses constructed by Thai/Chinese and one was advertised as the 'party house' on FB @ 12,000 bt per night, sleeps 8, cinema room, pool and fully catered.  Neighbours couldn't sleep for the noise and complained .... 6 RTP officers promptly arrived and drug tested all occupants, (arrested 4) and closed the rental down.  Police Commissioner just happens to live nearby and might've helped 😉

Rental party houses with or without pools without rules and caring for noise no. Rental houses with or without pools that the renters and the rentee keep in check I really don't care. Same with condos. There has to be limits. You can't even go too overboard at hotels with out repercussion. In Jomtien there is a soi that has a bunch of houses just a 5 minute walk for mthe beach that are party rental houses. This is fine even though one night of our rental the hosue across the street made huge noise till about 3 am, but that was part of the deal.
