Thailand health officials are expected to gather more data in coming weeks as the highly transmissible BA.4 and BA.5 sub-variants of Omicron spread in Thailand. There is a new wave of BA.4 and BA.5 Omicron sub-variant infections hitting a number of countries that had, until recently, seen a large drop in their Covid case loads. Germany, Italy, Australia, Taiwan, Brazil, UK, Mexico, the US (but mostly in Florida, Texas and New York at this time), Chile and Greece are some of the countries which have seen sudden spikes and rises in hospital admissions. South Africa and Portugal both had sudden […]

Right Thailand is going to “observe” the situation. What a joke.

Just like the flu every year covid is going to have increases and decreases in cases. If you look at all these countries over the long term the rise in cases is a blip compared to winter and deaths are nothing compared to 2021.

Rather than trying to panic the public perhaps the medi-crats could instill calm tell people if they’re concerned they can get boosters, wear a mask, and if you get it we have good antivirals to treat 99.9% of cases.

Also saying hospital admission are rising is so disconnected from reality. While he casually mentions serious cases aren’t increasing, that suggests that the rise might also be due to the closing of most hospital facilities and Thai’s propensity for hospital admissions for minor sicknesses.

Saw a similar report in the Bangkok Post... Without any supporting numbers evidencing these increasing hospitalizations. The BKP even went as far as bringing up the fact Thailand is seeing 10,000+ arrivals a day, and as such, cases are likely to increase. More pandering to Thai fears of covid at the expense of the foreign tourist. Just when you think we turned a corner, they want you to believe we didn't.

John Campbell, PhD in Nursing Education. Not a virologist or medical doctor of any kind, just mostly cites already available information on YouTube, some of it quite off the mark. I lost respect for him when he said Covid vaccines were being administered wrongly, which is hard to do with a simple intramuscular injection. Also he kept going on with ivermectin conspiracy stuff up until at least this last March.

"Most of the patients were detected with Covid during routine pre-treatment testing for other situations"...so why be so scared ? Tired of all these professional scaremongers.
