Stay away from buying condos in Thailand now.  There is a huge over supply and developers are in trouble from paying too much for land, and not having the finances to complete new projects because pre-launch sales are way down.  Thais who are needed for most purchases are in high debt, and up to 15% defaulting.  The Chinese got burned in pricing scams and aren't returning to the condo market, the majority of the foreign buyers.  The cartel (rich Thai speculators who buy on property launch) would rather let their units sit empty than discount to a real market price, so price level is artificial. Property specialists are forecasting a 25 - 60% price correction, down, as the perfect storm brews.  Just do some math...does $300k for a unit that's no bigger than the size of a typical US master bedroom/bath make sense, in Thailand?  If you have nothing to do, sit around a building site and observe the quality of work and labor at a high rise.
