Smashing the hold of corporate brewery cartels in the booze business moved one step closer last night after the Move Forward Party’s Progressive Liquor Bill sailed through its first reading in the Lower House. Good news and kudos to Taopiphop Limjittrakorn, such a young MP to make a pledge and then step up and propose the bill.

Err… does this mean beer might be cheaper in the future if this bill passes?

And certainly taste better especially if the micro breweries are given a chance.

Good news, i hope this succeeds.  Around our area we have more and more "craft beer" places popping up but the prices are crazy because of the import taxes.  I showed one of the owners what it was like back in the states (house of 1000 beers) and his jaw dropped.

Probably not. Cheap beer means undrinkably poor quality or mass quantities. More small breweries, however, frequently means better tasting beer/wine/liquor.

It’s good to see a progressive party getting support to do something different than just maintaining the status quo and protecting big companies.They must have had support from outside the party too which is a positive trend.

Ever popped the top off a bottle of Chung and found it flat? Check the bottle for wear marks, It was a home brew. There is a thriving market for old bottles up North, I wonder why?
