Those who had already paid or presented any assets for bail would get their assets back too.”

The last 2 words in the 6th paragraph say it all.. There is possible room for change that may come sooner than we are thinking it may happen. Let's hope that change comes soon

In the words of Peter Tosh: Legalize it.

Build it and they will come.

I'm shocked they will release people convicted of smuggling high THC weed while it still remains illegal.

And how are people supposed to know the THC content of what they are growing?

Anyway, steps in the right direction,  I guess.

Don’t mistake this for act of kindness. It is the law in Thailand. When any law is amended and sentencing guidelines reduced any prisoners sentenced under previous laws must be resentenced, or as in this case, freed.
Finally some semblance of sanity prevails in Thailand’s lost war on drugs.

EDIT: Upon reading this again it appears to only refer to people charged but not yet convicted. I assume the convicted will need to lodge their own documents for a sentence reduction.
