A 50-year-old Patong woman drowned after her pickup truck careered off a treacherous road and plunged into a lake in the Kathu district. Witnesses alerted police of the accident, opposite the GSM Duty Free Shop on Phra Phuket Kaew Road, at 6am on Sunday. The bystanders said the woman, driving a blue Ford Ranger pickup with Phuket plates, failed to control her vehicle on the rain-sodden road and swerved into the pond. Feel Sad for the family as this could have been avoided.. I drove by this yesterday and saw the massive length of damage with blue paint on the barrier.. she must have been seriously motoring!

Usual story it was the road conditions in the rain not the ridiculous speed they were driving at .. just lucky she never took out someone else at that speed

It is sad - the way some people drive makes you wonder why there aren't more accidents. Sixty odd people die every day on Thailand's roads.
