But Education Minister Trinuch Thienthong vowed to get kids back and says the department is joining forces with other organisations, including the police, to make sure it happens. Students living in rural areas will get free schooling and tuition at nearly 90 schools across the country. The project aims to reduce student drop-out, and it will help 5,000 kids each year, according to the Education Minister. “We estimate that up to 120,000 children have […]

As we’ve seen in the rest of the world, we’ve done enormous damage to the education and lives of millions children to extend the lives of a small % mostly elderly and sick people by a few months or years.

In the United States, the years lived lost to drug overdoses far outpaced years lost to covid.

Ah well, that's the Americans for you. Cheaper to die than get seen so I've heard.

That's factually true, but have you compared it to the other extreme scenario, i.e. if the virus was allowed to go around unbounded? The education system (or any sector for that matter, not in the least the medical sector) would have suffered even worse pre-Omicron; at least now we've got a sufficient number of teachers left, no hospital barred their doors and no tuk-tuks were reserviced into wagons to pick up corpses. This year, it's time to let go of the habits (including occasional knee-jerk reactions) acquired in the prior 2 years.

That's what you get from the fear porn. Now people either lost their job because of the overreacting, got in financial trouble because of it, or they still don't dare to send their kid to school.

In my school there are still parents who don't want to send their kid to school or want to have them completely separated during lunch etc.

Brave New World.  Libtards freaking out on one side.  Equally dumb dumbs on the other end of the spectrum.  What remains true is the truth is generally found in the middle ground, and that's where sensible things get done.  Current state of affairs is farked, and will be as long as both sides play to the television cameras and popularity contests.
