We will be moving to Pattaya mainly because of Mrs Rowdy's

business (Take away food).

I am hoping someone on the forum can help with my question.

What part of Pattaya do the majority of Thai people reside?

Beach side of Sukumvit or on the east side also known as Dark side?

Many thanks if you can help.

I would say that is an impossible question to answer, if you are asking where are the greatest number of potential customers for such a business.  Pattaya is awash with high quality road side stalls, food markets, open air restaurants, take away  food outlets. The competition for customers is noticeably fierce, so starting out fresh may be a dauting prospect.   To the beach side, I guess mainly visitors, hotels and tourists,  and to the 'dark side' as you put it, more locals , but that is a guess and the place is still awash with existing outlets, who are starting up again after covid.  I think that you need to do your own research, on site, as trying to muscle in on other people's patches can get you into bother and you need to get a firm grip on your potential market before you commit yourself.

I'm sorry that I cannot be more helpful, but I  with you and Mrs Rowdy all the best in your move.

It reminds me of an old Jewish expression; 'if you want to start a jewelry business, go to where the other Jewelry businesses are located' ?
