The World Health Organisation has yet to make any recommendation on according the virus endemic status. According to a Nation Thailand report, Satit says the health ministry is doing everything possible to meet its target for administering booster doses, which should help prevent new variants from developing. The pandemic did not spark people's change in behavior - it is the Government's rules and regulations that did that. It also destroyed the economy.

Even now I still find it hard to believe that there are people out there, and in government no less, who think what we did was worth it. So much suffering for decades to come to achieve what? It is like that saying during the Vietnam War "we had to destroy the village to save the village".

Well, we destroyed billions of lives to delay the deaths of a few people. The funny thing is that the number of people who will die from Covid probably won't change - just shifted in time.

Makes you wonder what rock he lives underneath. Covid is here to stay. It will eventually become a seasonal disease, much like the ordinary flu. With new variants every year. And with a vaccination round every year, for people over 60 and high-risk groups.

lol.. delay a few deaths? 6 million dead and counting weren’t delayed.
Covid isn’t going away, we just hope a worse variant doesn’t appear.

Ps: you forgot to include the mandatory anti  mask rant in there.

Another Health Minister clueless probably an ex-Big C shelf packer. Only thinking of today. Covid will not be disappearing for many years but this lot are clueless about how this disease works and don't realize its lifespan and how to live with it.

6 million of what 125 million who have died over this period. Many of the lockdownists are the same people who say we need to fight income inequality etc. meanwhile the actual policies placed the biggest burdens on the poor. There’s a lot of people who don’t get paid $100,000 to sit on zoom calls in their pajamas.

It certainly isn’t going away—but now we have vaccines and treatments. Preventing infections is not sustainable. And yet we still see policies like masks and business closures that supposedly (but don’t) prevent infections.

Anti maskers and their ilk probably complained about having to eat their vegetables and not being allowed to stay up late as children. Now they are all grown up they complain if they get the clap and blame it on the condoms being too small. You don’t like? Move.

And this guy is one of the leaders here? Maybe he still lives in 2020, because we are sure by now that Covid will just stay but becomes weaker over time.

The other day I was reading an article that the normal flu we get might come directly from the Spanish flu which was very deadly back then, but now just a weak flu. That will also happen with Covid, and that will also happen with future diseases.

Brilliant! Spot on with the treatments as opposed to  the masks and restrictions!

Regular flu will likely be worse this coming winter than Covid.

Masks indoors are tolerable although pointless in most settings, just get rid of the mask outdoor mandate for now.

Just shows how poor this lot fought the Pandemic once it kicked off. Most Country's liaised and helped each other to fight it once it was determined what it was and how to stop it. What did Thailand do? ignored all help offered and let people travel around the country spreading the virus. Insufficient inoculation programs the list goes on and we all know how poor they fought it, but the worst apart from the Tourist industry set back years was to blame most of the problems with Foreigners bringing it in.
