Another dud headline. 7 days full quarantine for arrivals (instead of 14) to China followed by another 7 days 'home' quarantine involving 3 tests. The article does indeed state that this is intended for for business people and students - but stretching beyond incredulity to suggest that this will bring anything to the Thai tourist business. -

Mobile Phones.
I was sitting in Malaga airport in 2002 waiting for a flight and browsing the Internet on my old Toshiba flip phone. Took a couple of snaps with my cousins and stated to attract attention. Ended up surrounded by half a dozen onlookers all fascinated with what my phone could do. One guy even offered to buy it from me. That same phone is probably in a museum somewhere now, just 20 years later. -

News Forum - Power lines and transformers to be checked after fatal Bangkok Chinatown fire
After a fire on Sunday in the crowded Sampeng market, in Chinatown, took the lives of 2 people, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt has asked the Metropolitan Electricity Authority to investigate the safety of almost 400 power transformers and power lines around Bangkok. According to eyewitnesses, smoke was coming from the power transformer before the fire broke out through the surrounding shophouses, some of which sold paper and cardboard boxes. An early assessment has been done by police, engineers, City Hall, the MEA and Samphanthawong district officials. They estimate that the cost of damage is around 30 million baht.
