Can anyone think of any other world leader who would announce their subjects should beware of counterfeit notes? Seems most other heads of state are busy with real matters. Just sayin'.

They should stop being cheap and swap all the cotton banknotes for the polymer banknotes with the clear circle in them and all the funky anti counterfeiting stuff.

Correct. In a normal political set up, it would be the bank governor or possibly Finance Minister getting involved. Perhaps he’s already sorted out all of the other issues. You know, things like:

Police Corruption, over priced lottery tickets, high road deaths, intellectual property violation, human trafficking, not to mention the big black hole in GDP due to lack of tourism. Maybe he’s worried a few of his hundreds of millions of baht he saved from his army salary are fake notes.

It is unfair that an employee should compensate the business owner. I bet that there are no protocols established or training for the employee to identify fake notes!
Apart from that, why has she had to pay 1,190 Baht?  The shop only lost 1,000 so the employer gains an additional 190 Baht?

She need to get the real bill in return + get paid for the Chicken 1000+190=1190

No, she needs to get the 810 Baht given in change plus the cost of the chicken, 190Baht.
Total 1000 Baht.

Fortuner you are wrong Loong is right!

The shop accepted a fake 1,000 note, The shop didn’t give out a real 1,000 baht note + a chicken.

 190 + 810 = 1000 baht

Why should the shop get 1,190 baht?

The shop gave out 810 baht + a 190 baht chicken = 1000 baht.

The shop received a counterfeit 1000 baht note = 0 baht.

Loong is correct.
