AirAsia is launching direct flights to Phuket from Northeastern Thailand, and Singapore, starting April 12. Yesterday morning, a Nok Air flight landed in Phuket, marking the new plan for one direct flight per week between Phuket and Ubon Ratchatani.  Meanwhile, the manager of AirAsia at Phuket International Airport announced yesterday that there will be flights twice a week, on Tuesday and Saturday, between Phuket and Singapore. Thai government should apply the same rules for domestic flights as they have for international flights. Which means, all travelers should apply for a Thailand Pass, have adequate insurance, and should take a PCR test on arrival. And stay in a SHA+ hotel for 1 night. Considering that there are 25k new local Covid cases every day (officially, there might be more) and only 15 Covid cases on international flights this will surely help to prevent the spreading of Covid.

Of course there are more .... last week in the UK there were projected figures of over 4 million in a week (obviously that doesnt include naturally immune people as they never do) as you say even 25,000 a day is a hell of a lot in a week thats for sure, but the worldwide policy now is to ignore it even though deaths are still happening. At a reasonably high rate. I havent seen anyone mention death figures in a long time

Whats more interesting is the data being released by pfeizer after they were forced to release it by a court order ...  check that out. . its fascinating what they knew but didnt tell anyone

Maybe for domestic flights a PCR test is a good idea before being able to enter the airport, but more than that would be ridiculous. The way I see it is Omnicron is going to make a huge splash impact during the travel holidays. This seems inevitable and 100,000 positives a day is not out of the question one bit, and the officials must know this as well. Maybe they think if the masses contract it then half of the battle is over trying to get herd immunity.

It would be nice if domestic airlines could make more use of U-Tapao which serves huge areas of the eastern seaboard including Pattaya, Sattahip and Rayong. It was virtually abandoned during the pandemic but pre-pandemic it had a massive makeover to cater for the supposed increase in passengers. Also how about U-Tapao to Surat Thani for Pattaya tourists wanting to go to Samui (and vice versa) and not wanting to pay the hugely overpriced Bangkok Airways prices?

Isn't that Airline with flights to/from Northeast, ONLY Nok Air?

And Air Asia just reopens the route to Singapore?
