However, woman hadn’t sought permission to grow the plant, so she was arrested. 10 villagers have filed a complaint for justice because the grandma was denied bail for 24 hours and because she was apparently arrested without a warrant. Shame, obviously the local police have no face to

save. Another blow to the head to intelligent life

on planet Earth. How many generations of villagers

used cannabis as a food, medicine and enjoyment

and as well as a textile/hemp before the natural

folk remedies of this herb got black listed by the

dumb down cleverly 'educated' programming of foreign

influences?

Just goes to show how screwed up Thailand is, if it had been a Hi-so nothing would have been said or done. Are the police so hard up for tea money that they have to arrest grandma and do it without an arrest warrant, very strange.

TIT.

First they advertise to plant the ganja in the country side and it is illegal. Comon if you advertise to plant ganja and also expect everyone understand all this confusing statements where some not even can read or have the internet to understand all especially from a 70 years old grandma is really nonsense. Why not support her and explain her how she should do it after praising it as the new cashcrop from Thailand.

Her only crime was jumping the gun.

Thailand gives green light to growing cannabis at home | Reuters
BANGKOK, Jan 25 (Reuters) - Thailand's narcotics board on Tuesday said it would remove cannabis from its drugs list, paving the way for households to grow the plant.

Thailand became the first Southeast Asian country to legalise marijuana in 2018 for medical use and research.

Under the new rule, people can grow cannabis plants at home after notifying their local government, but the cannabis cannot be used for commercial purposes without further licenses, Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul told reporters.

The rule must be published in the official Royal Gazette and 120 days must pass before home cannabis plants will become legal.

Lesson #1. Don't grow plants in front of your house

Maybe don’t grow 1.4 meter tall plants in front of your house?  The photo of the 2 pot plants are clearly not 4&1/2 foot tall versions of the herb superb drooping under the welcoming weight of 1.1 pounds of sticky, stinky buds referenced in the article.
ahem..: drugs bad, police good, society safe blah blah.

Just like those that get visa and extension from immigration …. 1 x ream of A4 used in the process, every sheet signed, extra 2 reams A4 required as local government requirements to be done in triplicate, and mor likely than not each plant will require it’s own license and redone each year (with 90 day reporting of state of plant). ….. maybe even testing to be carried out by Thai Police as experts in the field 😉

Need to resort to putting her 24 hours in a cell and a bail of 10,000 Baht? Wouldn't confiscating the plant and a stern warning for first time offender do it?
