Everyone put their plans to travel to Thailand on ice for another two months then!

it’s always been true, but you would hope everyone now realises it, you can’t stop a virus!

Pnut likes the emergency decree, gives him reason to justify his hard line, decrease rights, lock up opponents on trumped up charges but he made a big mistake in wanting Covid declared endemic, if endemic no need for the emergency decree.  Cannot back track and lose face but needs the endemic declaration to open Thailand up, bury a few of his stuff ups and get the foreign currency flowing in.

His problem is how to keep those powers (he needs them to get through the next election) AND have an endemic declaration, because without tourism Thailand is dead in the water and Pnut with it.

Well he is a dictator with a military government so he can declare covid an endemic but he needs the emergency decree just in case it starts spreading again 😢

Question …. Can you hold a General Election under a State of Emergency?  As the current government seems to want to keep this as the norm in Thailand.

When are the Elections. ?

The PM can dissolve Parliament at anytime now but has until 2023 if he wants to go down to the wire . I would be surprised if he didn't drag it out while he has all the power and money.
