News Forum - China straddles diplomatic tightrope on Russia’s invasion, Ukraine’s sovereignty

China has refused to condemn Russia’s attack of Ukraine, insisting it is not an invasion, standing by its biggest alley without condoning its actions of unprovoked aggression on a sovereign nation. But its diplomatic ambiguity is forcing it to straddle an awkward line between Russia and the West. Like it or not, China’s Xi Jingping has become an unwilling mediator between Russian’s Valdimir Putin and the West, putting Xi in an exclusive position to speak some sense to an increasingly isolated Putin, whom Western media has described as “unhinged.” It’s a role he certainly didn’t expect and didn’t sign up […]

The story China straddles diplomatic tightrope on Russia’s invasion, Ukraine’s sovereignty as seen on Thaiger News.

"Foreign Minister Wang Yi told various European officials in a succession of phone calls that China respects the sovereignty of other countries — including post-Soviet bloc countries like Ukraine."

Pure Chinese BS.

For the last several decades, China has steadfastly maintained that a county's sovereignty and internal affairs are off-limits to outsiders, forcefully rejecting any criticism leveled at them. Now that they have shown that idea to be a tissue of convenient, self-serving lies...

...time to crank up the pressure;

Hey China! Why are you subjugating Tibet?

Hey China, Why are you committing genocide in Xingjian?

Hey China! Why don't you keep your word in Hong Kong?

Hey China! Why don't you stop threatening Taiwan?

Hey China! Why don't you allow your citizens access to the World Wide Web?

If China doesn't condemn Russia's invasion of Ukraine, then why should anyone respect China's foreign policy or their policy of rejecting outside criticism? Why would anyone not condemn China's "Internal Affairs"?

Call out China's words for what they are; pure hypocrisy.

Obviously nobody cares about Thailand caring or not. Irrelevant in world affairs. Their daft clown UN Rep called for BOTH sides to “ refrain from violence” and “ de-escalate”. That’s from a Diplomatic School Manual I suppose as parroted at UN by robotic grandstanding fools hundreds of times in such situation of ONE clear aggressor. Just Shut Up Clown if nothing useful to say! Is that what Thailand would do then if invaded again by Burma ? Yeah, right 🤣

They don’t I guess. How can a dictator realistically condemn another. Thailand are doing what they always do. Keep their mouth shut and quietly look for opportunities to exploit the situation.

Nobody cares to any greater degree of your own irrelevance in world affairs. Or mine.

So will you still be staying in Thailand (if you already are) if it doesn't share the same values as you do?

You missed one. There are certain vast territory in the South Sea that they are stepping on to grab as well. Can’t believe anything XI and his CCP cronies  say or do. They are worms at best and see how a big part of the world is slapping back at Putin and Russia and perhaps seeing that will be happening to him and his cronies and country the same if he touches Taiwan in any way. Can he save the day and reel Putin back in? I don’t think he cares one little iota.

Do try to keep up & stay on subject.
Here’s an assist on that: It’s not about you or me. Address Subject not Writer.

"China’s embassy in Kyiv has advised Chinese citizens to stay at home and display a Chinese flag on their cars if they drive anywhere."

I am sure your average Russian tank driver would not recognise or care a vehicle was showing a Chinese flag. As every video game player knows, you have to flatten to score points and advance. :)

When in war, nothing matters. Don't think the Russians can sometimes even recognize their own vehicles😀
