Her mother, Lynn Blignaut, told The Thaiger she has faith that the situation will be sorted in time. About as true as saying that she was sentenced to life in prison after she had breakfast, since neither was why she was tried and  sentenced.

She pled guilty to trafficking Class 1 drugs after she signed for a package the police knew contained drugs as it had previously been opened by customs, and after four similar packages containing traces of the same drugs were found in her room.

Whether she should serve her sentence in South Africa or Thailand or whether a life sentence is 'fair' or not is a different matter, but she was NOT given a life sentence for signing for a package.

At least she isn't in China or she'd get the death penalty

I have no sympathy to drug dealers getting caught no matter her story.

Her "story", which she admitted, was that she was trafficking Class 1 drugs but she was only a minor player, while her defense is that her boyfriend has since said that he was the major player but he's only coming forward while in hiding on the internet!

Importing any class of drug into Thailand is very, very naughty. A quarter of a kilo of MDMA cannot be explained away as personal use. Cops didn’t even try to bust her selling the stuff as they knew her goose was cooked.

She was a low level pusher. Sure there are more people that deserved to be jail but she was the one that got caught. She already admitted knowledge of the drug packages, she knew what the men she was involved were up to. I mean who can believe a 22 year old blond selling omelets on the street in Thailand LoL.

She knew what she was doing carrying that package. I bet she was given a good fee for that. Action and consequences...just deal with it
