I see that the potentiality of losing 10,000 Russian tourists May force the TAT to come up with the new marketing campaign. I’m sure that they’re up to the task whether it’s real or not.

Thailand would do well by hosting refugees from Ukraine, fleeing from the Russian invasion.

Will RTAF send evacuation flights?

They won't do that, they would be afraid of Putin launching an attack on them for helping Ukrainians, Putin hates ukrainians same as hitler hated jews.😕

Does that include the ones that wander about with big bottles of Chang before a press up contest on the beach .. Dep Gov' might wanna get comfortable with the fact the ruble has crashed and had to be propped up by the Russian Central Bank earlier so even those that might be considering getting away will need wheel barrow's full of money ..

So if they use a card it could bounce. Better insist on cash and make sure it not fake.

Back to the drawing board.

Time to mull over another scheme to lure quality tourists to come play test or go lottery.

Step right up , take your chances,.... win a two week stay peering out the window of a "hospitel" eating cold food from a plastic box.

Hmmmm?  RE-education visa?  Has to be a few  empty military  camps that just need a quick dusting off and a bunch of plastic Lotus flowers  nailed to the doors? 3 categories of accommodation.

1 Huts that  lean  right. 2 Huts that lean  right. 3 Huts that are straight but basic amenities come at an extra charge !

the ruble exchange rate has almost returned to the pre-war value.

those who have money to travel to Thailand will not notice this change.

so hold on dude, they're coming.

The Ukraine Conflict will also hit the British Tourists coming to Thailand hard. Russia just closed it's entire airspace for British Airlines. More to follow ? Likely.

British Airways stopped flying to Thailand in 2020 and flights aren’t planned to resume until October this year. Even then the route to Bangkok didn’t generally involve flying over Russian airspace. Brits have had to find alternative airlines usually with a stopover in the Middl East for a long time now.

It won’t affect them at all. BA are the only airline that flies to Thailand and they aren’t currently offering flights. All others such as Thai, EVA, Qatar, Emirates, Etihad, Turkish are all unaffected. These are the primary carriers for British tourists flying to Thailand

Exactly. Just people trying to support lunatics like Putin by saying it will be a problem. They embarrass themselves with their comments.
