Even though it’s still 7 weeks away, the Thai government are taking the front foot on the forthcoming Songkran “new year” celebrations. The CCSA will meet next week to discuss potential disease prevention measures for the big Songkran holiday. However, it says it will not impose travel restrictions to prevent Thais from heading home for the annual commemoration. Well no one will wear a wet mask anyway so what is the point. On the other hand if not before then, then for sure openly allowing travel will push the numbers of cases up to the 100k level. The only consolation is the feel of a real long holiday and having Thailand in down time. But I think like for CM and Pattaya there will be morethan the usual places of festivity open and going at full speed, so over all it may not be that bad.

Lets see, 

This is equivalent to 

Christmas with no gifts

Easter with no baskets of Candy

Halloween without costumes or candy baskets

The bars are open but alcohol is prohibited.

last year the power that be, allowed un-vaccine people and at a time of high fatalities  to travel during songkran and party,this year most have been vaccine and low fatalities,yet they warning not to party ? you couldnt make it up if you tried

Parties  juss moit involve dancin ! So if  yuz arms  saty still you are not  dancin !

Rubbish songkran last year was effectively cancelled.
