Covid-19 infections are on the rise among young children in Thailand, with more than 100,000 children ages five and under affected since the pandemic began. Last month, around 1,000 children under six years old tested positive for Covid-19. But that number spiked last week to 6,000 children in that age group infected, according to the deputy director-general of the Department of Health. From April of last year to February of this year, there were 107,059 kids infected with Covid-19, according to the official data. They contributed for 5% of the nearly 2 million Covid-19 cases across all age categories. A total […]

Omg, kids have running nose. Quickly jab them 5 times

No one has suggested vaccinating 5 times, let alone once. What is needed is some consideration of the big picture.  When a child is ill, this typically requires the presence of an adult to care for the child.  The Thai economy has a labour shortage. Thailand's workforce is 46% female and even a loss of 1-3% of these workers  on any given day can disrupt the economy.  Most urban Thai families are not extended and many are single parent. (Single parent families represent close to 10% of all families in Thailand with the number more pronounced in urban areas.) In addition 2% of families consist of grandparents/grandchildren, putting a high risk group at greater risk of infection.

Children under age 5 are not vaccinated. The risk unvaccinated  people present is that they act as a reservoir, hosting the illness and providing an opportunity to infect all who come in contact with the reservoir. This means that the infected children will be infecting others, particularly their caregivers and  other family members.

The intent behind all the Covid control actions was to smooth the curve to minimize the disruption to the national economy because of the loss of too many critical sector workers at one time, and the over run of existing care resources.  To date, Thailand has been successful.

The infections are manageable, but it requires responsible behaviour and patience.

Spot on remark. All too often people look at the news items in isolation and don’t spend more than two seconds making up their mind as to what this may mean. This is a virus. It will just as easily infect a child and allow them to pass it on to everyone in their family including the elderly. The social and economic impact of this virus has been massive. Kids play a part in this pandemic as much as any one of us.

Alcohol ban at restaurants and “restaurants”. As the government reminds us, that’s way way the virus primarily spreads (not at construction sites or prisons anymore!) so these kids are obviously out drinking.
If we want to find a way to stop the virus we should ask the prison system since there’s so few cases this wave! Oh yeah just stop testing. 🙃

what a hell are you saying….vaxxed and unvaxxed are getting the covid absolutely same way. Your arguments are faulty.

Vaccine helps old people and people with health issues to lower the possible severity of the virus, thats all.

Both groups are getting amd spreading covid same.

No, my argument is not faulty. It is common sense and supported by the health literature. A vaccinated person is more likely to clear the virus faster than an unvaccinated person. It has already been established that unvaccinated people are more likely to become infected, to require hospital care and to require time in ICU.  The longer one is infected, the longer one is still shedding virus and infectious. And it is the unvaccinated who are more likely to  have extended periods of infection.   This is why healthcare workers have to wear PPE when handling such people.

The Lancet published an opinion in January 2022 that observed that both vaccinated and unvaccinated subjects can demonstrate similar viral loads when they are infected. Unfortunately, some uneducated people have taken this to mean that the likelihood of infection in third parties is identical. It is not. Vaccinated infected subjects as a group will clear an infection faster and will be less likely to infect others as the recovery time for a vaccinated patient is usually shorter than with unvaccinated  patient. Unvaccinated patients who are able to clear the  infection on their own, are more likely to experience severe symptoms than those who are vaccinated.  Most infections in both vaccinated and unvaccinated will be cleared by day 14.  However, severe infections may not clear for 40 days. Who is most likely to get a severe infection and to keep shedding virus? An unvaccinated person.

The vaccines are not just for "old" people or those with underlying health conditions. If that was the case we would not be seeing the side effects of Covid 19 infection that include impact such as loss of taste and smell, development of  Diabetes Type 2,  circulatory conditions etc. in people under the age of 60.  Covid19  is an inflammatory disease. Most people, young and old will recover with time. And that's the big issue, TIME. Unvaccinated  people are more like to run out of time to recover, and others require many weeks if not months to recover.

No, that is utter crap.

The only people in a danger from covid are ver old people and certain groups with precondition. Absolute majority of people dont need vaccination at all.

It is already showing that third shot is basicallly useless and countries with 4th shot said that it lasted maybe 3 months.

It is nothing else than pharma companies making their money. If the vaccine becomes generic, it will suddenly be done.

West is all together leaving this nonsense and vaxpassports etc..that is saying all we need to know.

Normal people, heathy people, pose zero threat. Every person I know who had this covid got 2 days feeling in the neck and that was it. Certainly great reason to destroy economies and freedom lol
