And you're wrong about it being just as deadly as previous variants, all data suggests otherwise

Rubbish do your research the FACTS are that in unvaccinated people the stat's show the number of serious disease cases and deaths from Omicron are almost identical to the original Wuhan strain.

How about doing away with all except for:

No single white males over the age of 55 coming in on a tourist visa.

After being in Bangkok last week it was pretty evident that social distancing is impossible and that the only ones not wearing a mask that covered both nose and mouth belonged to those mentioned above.

Anyone with half a brain knows masks do work to inhibit airborne pathogens when expelled from the nose and mouth. So those naysayers from previous posts who are obviously a bit dense, stay home.

N95 Mask Particulate Respirators do not block the covid virus... science.

But if you need your security blanket... feel free.

You have to call COVID-19 hotline 1330 and will be send via ambulance to take another PCR test at any hospital, if negative, you are free to go, if positive, you'll be in quarantine in a hospital or hospitel for at least 10 days & be forced to pay at least B100K upfront.

Hope you are kidding? I'm thinking seriously of canceling my trip it seems like the ties are just setting us up

A very possible scenario and especially if you are over 55 and have a chronic condition that makes you susceptible to severe disease being vaccinated may not stop you from becoming very sick. In spite of the rubbish pushed by people about Omicron being nothing, the facts are that it is equally as deadly as the original Wuhan and Alpha strains. Here in Australia where 95% of the East Coast population is double or triple vaccinated you regularly hear about you healthy vaccinated people being very sick and describing it as worse than any flu they ever had and being left with problems with their breathing that lasts for months. If you have a heart condition or something similar that is undiagnosed, which is quite common in westerners, you could get extremely sick very fast. Think about how often over the years that you heard about somebody that seemed perfectly health having a heart attack... Covid will make people in that position very sick or worse.

So you are literally saying that the most vulnerable even vaccinated can become very sick? And even "healthy vaccinated people being very sick and describing it as worse than any flu they ever had and being left with problems with their breathing that lasts for months"? And you continue "If you have a heart condition or something similar that is undiagnosed, which is quite common in westerners, you could get extremely sick very fast"? So basically, these vaccines do not work that well, is it what you are saying? Interesting...

Another interesting thing is the US Justice (bless them) has ordered the FDA to accelerate the publication of the data on safety of the Pfizer vaccine. Originally the FDA was to publish 55000 pages monthly and it would have taken ...75 years. Well not acceptable for a Texas court, the FDA has been ordered to publish the entire documents within 8 months (http://fingfx.thomsonreuters.com/gfx/legaldocs/gdvzykdllpw/Pittman FOIA Order.pdf). I have the feeling we are up for some surprises.

And of of March 3 travel authorities are urging the govt to scrap completely these restrictions.  Question:  We are leaving Bangkok for 2 weeks in UK before returning home to Thailand.  Can we apply for the new Thailand pass BEFORE departing Thailand?

Cheers

The reduced Thailand insurance benefit, now $20,000 cover needed, cost double, what the previous $50,000 cover benefit cost. Half cover for double the cost. Typical Thailand....

Go to Philippines, don't have to worry about quarantine and restrictions. Don't go to Thailand and it's like being in the prison for 2 years just to get there.

If someone test positive on day one or day 5 are they sent to quarantine in hospital or in hotel? Do they have to pay money upfront and can anyone recommend an insurance that is reliable ?

Entering into the hot season should see a significant reduction in tourists along with the uncertainty of the war in the Ukraine. Hopefully their be less tourist pressure and covid will become controllable.

Thanks for the sound approach and canceling your trip here!

The more people who complain and criticize this govt covid schemes the better imop

If nobody complained and bumpkins  continued coming here ,the covid scheme insanity would never stop!

My nine month trip to Thailand has been on hold since august last year.

But I don’t think my comment or any other will make any difference as the tourist authority will not bother to read theses comment
