' . . . The major general said he believes the seized drugs that vanished have been embezzled, but he would not give more details. . . '

'Embezzled' . . . the RTP's more respectable-sounding term for stolen, pilfered or misappropriated . . . an acceptable occurrence, almost, but in the full report, he does admit that he was aware of the alleged offences.

This could only be Thailand!

So they instantly know who did the hit on the bad boy Indian/Canadian Sandu, but domestic hits can never seem to be solved. One would think it would have been better for him to plainly pay up and then all of them get out of and far away from the business.

Oh Dear.... another example of police behaving badly. They too are subjects of the law, so dismissal isn't enough. Officers of the law, who are found guilty, need to pay a heavier price.

I’d hazard a guess that the bribe paid was to release the accomplices with the drugs. Cops bled the dealer for everything he had, got greedier and figured the dealer wouldn’t say a thing. Som nom nar.

money talks and not only in thailand..well people like and love this drugs....otherwise they would not spend money on it..the crazy and the dingdong....= a big part of the population..

to make money out of it is for a policeman the logical consequence cause he can use the law only created from.keeping people away from their preferred leisure activity..

imagine if beer would be illegal ..a huge increase in cops income will occur

Says a drug dealer (in the story I mean not you 😀) I’m sure a half decent lawyer could negate that.

However a bent copper isn’t exclusive to a Thailand. It is endemic in the U.K. (and very topical right now) but in the U.K. once they are caught they are allowed to quickly resign before being fired in order to protect their pensions. (And retire at 49)

Also years ago a proportion of Londons drugs eminated from Stoke Newington police station !

You think it’s bad here ?
